Megan S. Murray appointed as Co-Chair of Monmouth County Family Law Committee

Megan S. Murray, Esq. has been appointed by the President of the Monmouth County Bar Association to Co-Chair the Monmouth County Family Law Committee for 2012-2013.  As a Co-Chair of the Family Law Committee, Ms. Murray will act as a liaison between the Bench and the Bar in Monmouth County, with the goal of working with judges and attorneys to promote efficiency in the Family Part.  Ms. Murray will also be working to plan and schedule Continuing Legal Education courses and to plan events for the Family Law Section.  This is Ms. Murray’s second year as Co-Chair of the Family Law Committee.

On April 21, 2011, the Appellate Division published a decision in Botis v. Estate of Gary Kudrick, ___ N.J. Super. ___ (App. Div. 2011), upholding the trial court’s decision not to apply N.J.S.A. 25:1-5(h) (a statute passed in January 2010 to require contracts for support between unmarried cohabitants to be in writing) retroactively to Ms. Botis’ Complaint for Palimony.  Megan S. Murray, Esq. represents Ms. Botis in ongoing palimony litigation against the Estate of Mr. Kudrick.  The Appellate Division’s decision was a victory for Ms. Botis, whose case has been pending since September 2008

Paone Installed as 97th President of the Middlesex County Bar Association

On May 11, 2011, John P. Paone, Jr. was sworn in and installed as the 97th President of the Middlesex County Bar Association.

Murray Appointed as Associate Editor of New Jersey Family Lawyer

Megan S. Murray was appointed as an associate editor of New Jersey Family Lawyer.  The periodical is circulated throughout the state, featuring articles devoted solely to family law.

Ms. Murray was co-chair of the Young Lawyer's Subcommittee (YLS) of the Family Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association for the 2009-2010 year.  YLS provides young attorneys with educational opportunities and networking opportunities with attorneys across the state.  YLS also provides substantial assistance to the Family Law Executive Committee.
