John P. Paone, III, Esq., the Senior Associate of the Law Offices of Paone, Zaleski & Murphy, is the 2023 recipient of the Martin S. Goldin Family Law Award. Mr. Paone will be presented with this award on January 17, 2024 at the MCBA Annual Family Law CLE & Awards Dinner. Mr. Paone was selected to receive this award based on his continuous study of past and present case law, his careful and detailed analysis of each family law case, his ability to present the issues and applicable law to clients in a readily understandable manner, his good-faith attempts to settle issues on a fair and reasonable basis before resorting to litigation, his ability to foster respect and courtesy from the bench and bar, his maintenance of high standards of integrity and professionalism, and his leadership in the Middlesex County Bar Association.

Mr. Paone’s practice is exclusively devoted to matrimonial litigation practice, including but not limited to, divorce, child support, child custody, equitable distribution, alimony, domestic violence, palimony and all other family law issues. From 2013-2016, Mr. Paone served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey as a member of the Specialized Crime Unit. As a Deputy Attorney General, Mr. Paone tried cases before juries and appeared before Superior Courts throughout the state. Before joining the Attorney General’s office, Mr. Paone served as a law student extern to the Hon. Barry Albin of the New Jersey Supreme Court (Ret.) and, upon graduating law school, he served as a New Jersey Superior Court Chancery Division law clerk to the Hon. Glenn Berman (Ret.) and the Hon. Ann McCormick (Ret.).

Locally, he is a member of the Monmouth, Middlesex, and New Jersey State Bar Associations. Mr. Paone currently serves as a second-term Trustee of the Middlesex County Bar Association.
