CLE: New Custody Statute – Where Do We Go From Here?

In January 2026, the Governor signed S4510/A5761 in law. This bill includes a significant change from the custody statute, N.J.S.A. 9:2-4 and presents practitioners with questions as to how this law will be interpreted and creates challenges for attorneys advocating for our clients in custody cases.
